Your Paramedical Skin Practitioner uses a small, sterile blade while holding the skin taut, moving the blade in gentle (and painless) upward motions.
You can expect to see an instant improvement in skin texture and tone, while the long-term effects are increased cell turnover, fewer wrinkles and dark spots, reduction of acne scarring, and the removal of fine facial hair. Removing the peach fuzz is also beneficial since the fine hairs trap debris and oils and give skin a dull look. After dermaplaning, skin care products and treatments perform much more efficiently since they can penetrate the skin more easily, plus your makeup goes on smoother as well!
What is Epiblade/Dermaplaning?
Epiblade/Dermaplaning is a highly effective physical exfoliation procedure. It requires the use of a sterile, surgical scalpel held at a 45 degree angle to gently “shave” the skin’s surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair. (The hair will not grow back thicker or more stubbly).
There is no downtime so its a perfect treatment for busy lifestyles. The skin may appear slightly flushed initially, but this should subside very quickly.
